Long the innovator in marine air-conditioning, Aqua-Air has taken the leadership position in the design and manufacture of environmentally friendly air-conditioning products for the marine industry.
Currently, all of Aqua-Air self contained units are available with either R22 or R407C. The standard units are charged with R22. If you wish to purchase a unit charged with R407C order the SMRG or STRG series units. The “G” indicates the unit is charged with R407C
R22, which is the current standard refrigerant used in marine air-conditioning applications, will be phased out over the next two decades under the terms of the Montreal Protocol. Several EEC nations who are signatories to the pact, are accelerating the phase-out of R22 use as early as January 2000.
Aqua-Air has engineered equipment which uses alternative refrigerants and compressor configurations that meet the ODP (ozone depleting potential) guidelines as established in the Montreal Protocol. “Our research and testing indicates that the R407C refrigerant, when used in tandem with alternative compressor configurations, provides excellent performance in the marine air-conditioning application. The real benefit here is the improved environmental impact” said DeWayne Nall, president of Aqua-Air. “We have a long business history within these countries. We have an obligation as the supplier of refrigerant based products to fill the need for environmentally acceptable products world wide.”
